Oops, it's been over a month!

Obviously I still need to work on blogging more consistently on this blog! It told me when I logged in that it had been over a month since my lost post! Oops!! That doesn't mean I haven't been sewing though. I have lot's of new things to show off.

First, I got 2 new fat quarter sets from Walmart. (yes I know, I know, not a good place to buy fabric) I figured since I was still learning I would practice some personal projects on Walmart fabric since it's so cheap and I can't afford to mess up designer fabric. Surprisingly, the fabric seems to be holding up pretty well. Any thoughts on Walmart fat quarter sets? Do you like mine??

I made my first project I am SO excited to show off with some of that fabric I just showed off. It's a new wallet!! I am so proud of myself for making this. It's my first time making pockets, and my first time using my new snap tool. I love love love how it turned out and I have been using it ever since.

My next project is my new coupon organizer!! I love getting restaurant coupons, rewards from stores, and coupons for my favorite things. I've been keeping them jumbled in the front pouch of my purse though. After realizing I kept leaving amazing coupons to expire because I never saw them, I realized I needed an organizer. Isn't this too cute? It fits perfectly in my purse and I can sift through my coupons so much easier.

It might be until after Christmas until you see me again, I have a LOT to do before then with work and getting ready for the Holidays. But I promise to make a new years resolution to blog more after then!! Make sure to leave some comments and let me know what you think, tips, etc.

Some new sewing adventures

It's been a BUSY week with the business, so I haven't gotten to sew too much. Plus I thought I lost my zipper foot, went and bought a new one and it was the wrong one, then found my zipper foot in my bead collection of all places! haha

My sewing desk got a little upgrade with some little organizers my mom found cleaning out my old room. They work perfect for storing thread and needles and other odds and ends!

I tried making this little "boxy bag" for my cosmetics from a tutorial I found online. I learned how to finally use my zipper foot, but the bag turned out less than stellar. The tutorial was really hard to follow, and forgot to tell me to sew the bottom of the bag, so I messed up quite a few times :( Plus it didn't have interfacing or lining so I think it looks sloppy. Oh well I just made it out of scraps at least! (You can see the inspiration pic first of how it was SUPPOSED to look haha)

My second project that I worked on today (Monday = day off yipee!!), turned out FABULOUS I think. It's a little bigger than it was supposed to be but I think I made the seams a 1/8" instead of 1/4" whoops. Oh well, doesn't really matter. I LOVE the colors though. Can't wait to make more, love these things!!

Let me know what you guys think, I would love some opinions!!

Sewing Room & New Fabric

First off, my lovely and amazing husband suffered through a trip to Mary Jo's after our date night to Moe's! I got 8 new adorable Fat Quarters, some new thread, and new zippers. Exciting!!

He also bought me my domain name theforgottentreasure.com back, which is switching over to this new blog now!

But mostly I wanted to show off my new sewing room, which doubles as our music room!

First, there is my newly organized fabric stash, which shares Walter's sports bookshelf:
